Interactive Classification of Objects
A workspace tool that speeds up sorting things into categories. As you place an item, the system compares it against the groups you have already made, highlights the most similar ones, shows which features they share, and can scroll them into view — so you classify by confirming a suggestion rather than hunting for the right pile.
Developed at Xerox PARC, in the same line of research as the multi-dimensional document foraging patent.
